(Ahlhorn, 28.04.2010)  - Today the German Federal Minister for Environment Dr. Norbert Röttgen has officially opened the Germany's first offshore wind park, Alpha Ventus, situated  in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), in the North Sea 45 km north of the island of  Borkum.

The company Dr. Müller GmbH stresses the importance of this innovative wind park´s located in Germany, which has being installed with twelve wind turbines of five megawatt capacity each and which aims to produce energy annually that will meet  the consumption requirement of approximately 50,000 households.

The commissioning of Alpha Ventus is a step forward not only for the development of offshore wind power technology but also for the research of new projects related to this area and with the nature conservation.

Dr. Müller GmbH, Ahlhorn (Lower Saxony/ Germany) has been a leading supplier of parts made of Nomex^®, Mylar^®, and Thermiflex^® to be used in the generators and  electronic devices for this pioneer project.  For this reason the company is very proud for the success of this project for this environmentally generation power undertaken by a consortium of EWE, E.ON and  Vattenfall Europe.
