The lecture program at PV ENERGY WORLD will focus on the combination of photovoltaics and energy storage: from own consumption of solar power to grid integration and the presentation of new energy concepts.
A large number of the exhibitors in this complex of topics will be located in Hall B5 for the first time this year. The special show “Rural Electrification” will highlight international trends in off-grid regions and the “Joint Forces for Solar Intelligence and Networking Forum” will invite the exchange of ideas between industry and trade. The Intersolar AWARD honors the most innovative companies in the solar industry. The special show “PV and E-Mobility” presents combinations of PV carports, charging stations and electric vehicles. The varied supporting program will be rounded off by various tours of the exhibition and workshops, which will offer visitors practical insights into the latest trends in solar thermal energy, photovoltaics and energy storage.
In addition, the varied conference program of the Intersolar Europe Conference picks up on the exhibition’s topics and deepens the content on an international level. Intersolar Europe, the world’s largest exhibition for the solar industry, will open its doors again at the Munich Exhibition Center on June 19. Under the motto “Connecting Solar Business”, manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, service providers and partners in the solar industry from all over the world will be providing information about the latest trends and developments in the solar industry. Around 1,500 exhibitors will be presenting their products and services in the fields of photovoltaics (PV), PV production technology, energy storage and solar thermal energy in 2013. The exhibiting companies will have 121,000 square metres of space in 12 halls and a large open-air exhibition area at their disposal. Over the three days of Intersolar Europe, over 60,000 trade visitors from 160 countries are expected to come to Munich to find out about the latest developments and trends in the solar industry.
Innovative products at the Innovation Exchange
Anyone who wants to find out about the latest trends and technologies in the international solar industry is in the right place at the Intersolar Europe 2013 Innovation Exchange in Hall B2 at Stand B2.450. Exhibitors at the exhibition will present their innovations in fifteen-minute presentations. After the presentations, specialists from the respective companies will be available for further information. In 2013 exhibitors will present innovative technologies from the areas of PV and energy storage, substructures for commercial roofs and inverters with new functions. A special highlight this year is the presentation of the Intersolar AWARD, which will take place on June 19, 2013 from 4:30 pm at the Innovation Exchange. The nominated AWARD participants will also present themselves there on June 20. The award is presented to international companies that have demonstrated their innovative strength with outstanding services and products. An independent jury of experts from science, industry, research and the trade media will select up to three winners in the fields of “Photovoltaics” and “Solar Thermal Technology” and this year for the first time also in the category “Solar Projects in Europe”. The renowned solar prize is awarded by Intersolar Europe in cooperation with the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar) e.V., Berlin. This year’s sponsor of the Innovation Exchange is SolarEdge Technologies Inc, Hod Hasharon, Israel.
Energy storage, self-consumption and grid integration at Intersolar Europe 2013
This year alone, 170 exhibitors in the Energy Storage Product Group have registered for Intersolar Europe. The majority of the exhibitors are located in Hall B5 and are therefore in the direct vicinity of the exhibition area of the inverter manufacturers. PV ENERGY WORLD, the international stage for the latest technologies and trends in photovoltaics and energy storage, is also located in the center of Hall B5. The focus here is on the current challenges of the energy revolution. Expert lectures will present topics such as the own consumption of self-generated solar power, storage solutions for private households and industrial and commercial buildings, as well as grid integration, and will discuss municipal energy concepts and models of energy cooperatives. PV ENERGY WORLD will be presented by Intersolar Europe with its partners, the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Freiburg and the Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers (EUROBAT), Brussels, Belgium. Following the successful start last year, Intersolar Europe will once again hold the special show “PV and E-Mobility” on the outdoor exhibition area of the Munich Trade Fair Center in 2013. The special show will focus on the latest PV carport solutions, charging stations and electric vehicles.
Rural electrification, special workshops and exhibition tours
BSW-Solar is once again organizing the special show “Rural Electrification” at Intersolar Europe. 13 companies will present their products and services for off-grid power supply in hall B5 at booth B5.170. Experts from BSW-Solar and the exhibiting companies will be available at the booth to answer all questions on the topic of “Rural Electrification”. In a three-day lecture program, the exhibiting companies will share their experiences in the electrification of off-grid areas in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Visitors will also gain practical insights this year in three special workshops on the main topics of “Photovoltaics on industrial and commercial roofs – practice, financing, building law requirements”, “Tips and tricks for installing storage systems” and “Solar process heat for breweries”. In addition, various tours of the fair will provide a good orientation at the fair on the topics of “PV on industrial and commercial buildings”, “Energy storage systems” and “Solar thermal energy – process heat”.
Networking event of the “Joint Forces for Solar
The “Joint Forces for Solar” initiative brings together players from the entire solar industry value chain – from international corporations to local installers. This year again, PV manufacturers will meet installers at the fifth “PV Briefing & Networking Forum Europe” and discuss current and future trends in the PV industry. They will be supported by the market research company EuPD Research, Bonn. Markus A.W. Hoehner, CEO of EuPD Research, reports on the latest developments, future opportunities and current trends in the European PV market. The presentation will take place on June 20 at the Innovation Exchange (Hall B2, Stand B2.450) from 16:00 to 18:00. Afterwards the panel “Industry Leader’s Debate on the Future of PV and Energy Storage Solutions” will discuss the future of the European PV market and the topic of electricity storage.
