Aptiv film types

APTIVTM Films are available in different types according to their specific property profiles. Depending on the type, there are different film thicknesses between 6 μm and 750 μm. The standard width of the APTIVTM Foil is 610 mm, whereby the thinner foils, in particular, are also available in widths of up to 1500 mm. Depending on your requirements, Victrex can also offer special widths of up to a minimum of 45 mm. Widths less than 45 mm are available from partner companies. The APTIVTM Foil surfaces are standard matt/gloss or gloss/gloss.

APTIVTM 1000 Serie

APTIVTM 1000 foils are semi-crystalline foils that are available in a thickness of 12.5 μm to 750 μm and in widths up to 1500 mm. They offer a unique combination of properties such as high-temperature resistance, low weight per unit area, high mechanical alternating load strengths, excellent radiation, hydrolysis and chemical resistance, electrical insulation, very good abrasion and wear resistance, excellent barrier properties, high purity, low flammability without the use of flame retardants, low toxicity of combustion products and low moisture absorption.

APTIVTM 2000 Serie

APTIVTM 2000 foils are amorphous foils, which are available in a thickness of 6 μm to 300 μm and in widths up to 1500 mm. The thin films of the 2000 series are suitable for applications where deep-drawability in connection with optical transparency is required. For applications with long-term use temperatures above the glass transition temperature (Tg) of 143 ° C, in which amorphous APTIVTM If foils recrystallize, these foils lose their transparency.

APTIVTM1100 Serie

The APTIVTM 1100 foils are mineral-reinforced, partially crystalline PEEK foils, whereby the
Filler level can be selected according to the application requirements. The foils are currently available in a thickness from 25 μm to 750 μm and a standard width of 610 mm. The film is used when a higher modulus of elasticity or lower coefficient of thermal expansion is required.

APTIVTM 2100 Series

The APTIVTM 2100 foils are mineral-reinforced, amorphous foils, whereby the filler content can be selected according to the application requirements. The foils are currently available in a thickness from 25 μm to 300 μm and a standard width of 610 mm. Films of this series offer advantages
where deep-drawability in connection with a higher modulus of elasticity and a lower coefficient of thermal expansion is required. For applications with long-term use temperatures above the glass transition temperature (Tg) of 143 ° C, however, less suitable because the film recrystallizes here and thus shrinks in an uncontrolled manner.

Post-processing processes

APTIVTM films can be post-processed using the following processes:

• Plasma surface activation for better compatibility with adhesives, lacquers, paints, etc.
• Metallization via metal deposition or lamination processes
• Deep drawing
• Hot lamination (without glue) to other materials (e.g. metals)

These secondary processes enable designers and engineers to take advantage of the benefits and
Use the properties of the APTIVTM film in different formats.
