COMPOSITES EUROPE 2011: new exhibitor record, award-winning innovationsMüller Ahlhorn

25 percent more exhibition space, 20 percent growth in the number of exhibitors, including numerous global players from the areas of CFRP and mechanical engineering: the COMPOSITES EUROPE trade fair took place at the Stuttgart exhibition center with over 350 international exhibitors from Europe, Asia and North America took place in the period from September 28-30, 2011.
At the largest trade fair for composite materials in Germany, everything revolved around new lightweight construction concepts, material trends and state-of-the-art production solutions for the composites industry. This year, the focus of COMPOSITES EUROPE was particularly on the subjects of automation, manufacturing processes and series applications.
With Toho Tenax, the SGL Group, Zoltek and Mitsubishi Rayon from Japan, four heavyweights from the CFRP segment exhibited at COMPOSITES EUROPE this year. Carbon Composites eV was also represented again, bringing its member companies BMW, EADS and Premium Aerotec to Stuttgart.
Also in the field of mechanical engineering and automation, which was already strongly represented by KraussMaffei Technologies or Dieffenbacher, new high-tech companies could be won as exhibitors with McClean Anderson from the USA, MAKA Systems or Manz. In the field of research institutes, the Fraunhofer Society for the Promotion of Applied Research eV, the Allianz Faserbasierte Werkstoffe Baden-Württemberg eV and the Cluster New Materials of Bayern Innovativ GmbH were represented with joint stands at COMPOSITES EUROPE.
COMPOSITES EUROPE took place for the sixth time in 2011. The trade fair is organized in cooperation with the European industry association EuCIA, the international magazine Reinforced Plastics and the AVK. The international conference of the AVK, to which around 500 participants are expected, formed from 26. to September 27th again kicked off the fair.
