The Intersolar AWARD honors the most innovative companies in the solar industry. The special show “PV and E-Mobility” presents combinations of PV carports, charging stations and electric vehicles. The varied supporting program is rounded off with various tours of the trade fair and workshops, which offer visitors practical insights into the latest trends in solar thermal, photovoltaics and energy storage.

The diverse conference program of the Intersolar Europe Conference also takes up the topics of the trade fair and deepens the content on an international level. Am 19. June the world’s largest trade fair for the solar industry, Intersolar Europe, opens its doors again at the Munich Trade Fair. Under the motto “Connecting Solar Business”, manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, service providers and partners in the solar industry from all over the world will be providing information on the latest trends and developments in the solar industry. In 2013, around 1,500 exhibitors will present their products and services in the areas of photovoltaics (PV), PV production technology, energy storage and solar thermal energy. The exhibiting companies have an area of 121,000 square meters in 12 halls and a large outdoor area at their disposal. On the three days of Intersolar Europe, over 60,000 trade visitors from 160 countries will find out more about the latest developments and trends in the solar industry at Messe München.

Innovative products on the novelty exchange

If you want to find out about the latest trends and the latest technologies in the international solar industry, you are at the right place at the new products exchange at Intersolar Europe 2013 in Hall B2 at Stand B2.450. Exhibitors at the trade fair present their innovations in fifteen-minute lectures. After the presentations, the specialists from the respective companies will be available for further information. In 2013, the exhibitors present innovative technologies from the fields of PV and energy storage, substructures for commercial roofs and inverters with new functions. A special highlight this year is the presentation of the Intersolar AWARD, which will take place on June 19, 2013 from 4:30 p.m. on the innovations exchange. The nominated AWARD participants will also present themselves there on June 20. The award is given to international companies that have demonstrated their innovative strength with outstanding services and products. An independent jury of experts from science, industry, research and specialist media selects up to three winners in the areas of “Photovoltaics” and “Solar thermal energy” and, for the first time this year, also in the “Solar Projects in Europe” category. The renowned solar prize is awarded by Intersolar Europe in cooperation with the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar) eV, Berlin. This year’s sponsor of the innovation exchange is SolarEdge Technologies Inc., Hod Hasharon, Israel. Energy storage, self-consumption and grid integration at Intersolar Europe 2013

This year alone, 170 exhibitors in the energy storage product group have registered at Intersolar Europe. Most of the exhibitors are located in Hall B5 and therefore in the direct vicinity of the inverter manufacturers’ exhibition area. The PV ENERGY WORLD as an international stage for the latest technologies and trends around photovoltaics and energy storage is also located in the center of Hall B5. The focus here is on the current challenges of the energy transition. In expert lectures, topics such as self-consumption of self-generated solar power, storage solutions for private households and industrial and commercial buildings as well as grid integration will be presented and communal energy concepts and models of energy cooperatives will be discussed. The PV ENERGY WORLD will be presented by Intersolar Europe with the partners Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE, Freiburg and the Association of European Automotive and Industrial Battery Manufacturers (EUROBAT), Brussels, Belgium. After the successful start last year, the special show “PV and E-Mobility” will again take place at Intersolar Europe in 2013 on the outdoor area of Messe München. The focus of the special show is on the latest PV carport solutions, charging stations, and electric vehicles.

Rural electrification, special workshops and exhibition tours

At Intersolar Europe, BSW-Solar is once again organizing the special show “Rural Electrification”. 13 companies present their products and services for off-grid power supply in hall B5 at booth B5.170. Experts from BSW-Solar and the exhibiting companies will be available at the stand to answer any questions about the topic of “rural electrification”. In a three-day lecture program, the exhibiting companies will share their experiences in electrifying off-grid areas in Africa, Asia and Latin America. This year visitors will also gain practical insights in three special workshops on the main topics “Photovoltaics on industrial and commercial roofs – practice, financing, building law requirements”, “Tips and tricks for the installation of storage systems” and “Solar process heat for breweries”. Various tours of the trade fair also offer good orientation at the trade fair on the topics of “PV on industrial and commercial buildings”, “Energy storage” and “Solar thermal – process heat”.

Networking event of the “Joint Forces for Solar”

The “Joint Forces for Solar” initiative brings together players from the entire value chain of the solar industry – from international corporations to local installers. Once again this year, PV manufacturers will meet installers at the fifth “PV Briefing & Networking Forum Europe” and debate current and future trends in the PV industry. They receive support from the market research company EuPD Research, Bonn. Markus AW Hoehner, CEO of EuPD Research reports on the latest developments, future opportunities and current trends in the European PV market. The lecture will take place on 20. June at the novelty exchange (Hall B2, Stand B2.450) from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Afterwards, in the panel “Industry Leader’s Debate on the Future of PV and Energy Storage Solutions”, the future of the European PV market and the subject of electricity storage can be discussed.
