The High Performance Material Norton TH is suitable for a variety of applications in the electrical engineering field: the product can be used as slot insulations and wedges in traction motors, as an intermediate layer in transformers and for cable insulation. Norton TH®isa polyimide film16011, abbreviation PI, whose mainstructural features arethe imides. The polyamidesare produced bycondensation of polymerizationand by a furtherchemicalprocess of the film.
Norton®16 011TH isa unique high-performance plastic that is unique in itscombinationwithpolymer film materials otherwise not found. This makes it ideal for a variety of applications in numerous industries. Norton® 16 011 TH has an excellent chemical resistance without any known organic solvents.
Norton®TH16 011is dimensionallystable, its shrinkageis less than0.08%.
In addition,Norton®TH16 011has no meltingpoint, is flame resistance and has the highestflammability ratingof UL-94V-0 (UL File:E231847) andbegins to carbonize at800 °C.
Thanks to the excellent properties of Norton® TH 16 011 is used at both extremely low temperatures down to -265° C and high temperatures above 400 ° C . Its temperature resistance is around +220 ° C, at which other organic materials are no longer functional.
By the default, Norton® TH 16 011 is used at temperatures from 20 – 220 ° C.
