The 3M Flame Retardant Barrier, FRB Series is a halogen-free, inorganic-based material with a UL 94 flame retardancy rating of 5VA. 3M FRB flammability ratings

A material's flammability characteristics are classified into six categories, listed in decreasing order of flame resistance (5VA, 5VB, V-0, V-1, V-2, HB). These categories are used to describe how well a material will respond when ignited under laboratory conditions. These classifications typically apply to materials used in the manufacture of housings, structural components, and insulators in consumer electronic products.

With a UL 94 flame retardancy rating of 5VA, the FRB series outperforms other materials such as aramid, polypropylene and polycarbonate. Its dielectric strength increases even further when compacted or laminated with polyester.
