3M™ Glass Cloth Tape 79 is a printable tape used on coils/transformers and motors. Applications include the outside wrapping of bobbins, mandrel coils, wire termination panel supports, end and wire anchors and connectors. This tape is rated for 600V and withstands a temperature range of 0 to 150°C.

3M™ Tape 79 features a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that provides optimal adhesion and is edge-tear resistant. This conformable tape is solvent resistant and features a glass cloth backing that will not shrink or rot and is non-flammable. This ensures maximum stability. The printable tape is designed for tying and strapping. It absorbs resins and varnishes excellently. UL listed and RoHS 2011/65/EU compliant.

The 3M glass fabric tape 79 withstands a breakdown voltage of 3.000 volts and, with a temperature resistance of up to 155 °C, belongs to insulation class F. It can be used to insulate electrical components that give off a lot of heat and as a protective covering against heat radiation. Like all glass fabric tapes, it is particularly tear and abrasion resistant. This ensures long functionality even under high mechanical stress, such as in electric motors. Due to its elasticity, the printable adhesive tape adapts perfectly to different substrates and its fabric structure ensures excellent absorption of resins and paints. The insulating tape, which is 0,18 millimeters thick in total, is coated with a solvent-resistant acrylate adhesive and is therefore particularly suitable for applications where solvents are indispensable.
