Properties of ETFE film
Tecfilm® ETFE TC 00160 from Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH boasts a wide range of outstanding properties that make it a preferred material in electrical and power electronics. It offers excellent electrical insulation with high dielectric strength, thus ensuring reliable protection even in high-voltage applications. It remains stable even under extreme temperature conditions: The film is resistant to temperatures up to 200°C and exhibits high flexibility even at very low temperatures.
Their mechanical stability is characterized by excellent elongation at break and durability. This is complemented by very high tracking resistance (CTI ≥600), enabling safe use in demanding electrical environments. Flame-retardant properties, based on standards such as UL 94 VTM-0 and DIN 4102-B1, provide additional safety.
Furthermore, ETFE film is weather- and aging-resistant, ensuring reliable use even under extreme environmental conditions. Despite its very low basis weight, it is extremely robust and, at the same time, impresses with its high light transmission – ideal for transparent applications. Its outstanding hydrolysis resistance underscores the material's resilience.
Optionally, the ETFE film can also be corona-treated for better printability, provided with an adhesive layer, or supplied in combination with thermally conductive materials to meet special requirements.
