- Techtextil: Exhibitor record and increased internationality strengthen the growth market for technical textiles
- Texprocess: Solid position as the leading international trade fair for cutting-edge technologies in textile processing
The international meeting places Techtextil (June 11-13, 2013) and Texprocess (June 10-13, 2013) in Frankfurt have started with very good registrations.
The two leading trade fairs welcome 1.648 exhibitors, an increase of 123 exhibitors compared to the previous events (2011: 1.525). “Techtextil reports exhibitor and area records and Texprocess shows increased internationality and stable registration numbers.
All in all, our textile trade fair double at the Frankfurt exhibition center offers the world's largest range of technical textiles, nonwovens and textile processing technologies," says Detlef Braun, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt GmbH. Characterized by the innovative strength of both sectors, Techtextil and Texprocess are also starting with positive economic expectations. “The markets for technical textiles and textile processing remain growth-oriented. At 22 million tons, technical textiles now make up 27 percent of global textile production,” says Braun. “Sewing and clothing technology, which is relevant for Texprocess, is also benefiting from this development – a market with a global export volume of around 4,5 billion euros in 2012.”
Techtextil, the world's leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, is setting new records for the 15th time. Three hall levels are fully booked - an unprecedented success for the event. From June 11 to 13, 2013, 1.322 exhibitors from 48 countries (2011: 1.199 exhibitors from 50 countries) presented themselves at the exhibition center, an increase of ten percent.
“The international technical textiles industry relies on Techtextil. No other trade fair in the world offers such a wide range for this market with worldwide growth rates of up to five percent annually,” says Braun. "We are seeing an increase in exhibitors across all countries and regions, especially from Denmark, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey and the USA." At the same time, the proportion of international exhibitors rose to around 67 percent (2011: 65 percent). The number of joint stands has also increased to 13 nations (2011: 11 countries).
The great response to Techtextil shows that technical textiles, nonwovens and the associated textile technology are being used in more and more sectors. With twelve application areas and eleven product groups, Techtextil illustrates the variety of applications and products. These include construction, architecture and interior design (Buildtech, Hometech), sportswear and protective clothing (Sporttech, Protech), industrial textiles (Indutech), medical technology (Medtech) and automotive and aviation (Mobiltech). The five largest areas of application based on the names of the exhibitors reflect the current growth markets of the technical textile industry. "At Indutech, Mobiltech, Buildtech, Hometech and Protech, we are currently seeing particularly high demand for textiles worldwide," says Braun.
Texprocess strengthens its position as the leading international trade fair for the latest textile processing technologies
326 companies from 37 countries (2011: 326 exhibitors from 40 countries) will be presenting their high-tech solutions on four hall levels at the Texprocess from June 10th to 13th at the Frankfurt exhibition center. New exhibitors from all areas of textile processing have confirmed. In addition, the internationality of the exhibitors has increased compared to 2011 and is now 65 percent (2011: 63 percent). The most important exhibitor nations besides Germany are Italy, China, USA, Taiwan, Poland, Turkey, Great Britain, South Korea, Switzerland and Japan. “The market's response to Texprocess is once again very good. Our concept with the parallelism to Techtextil, the innovative character, the internationality and the unique product breadth and depth more than worked out,” says Braun.
The Texprocess shows machines, processes as well as IT and logistics solutions for the textile and clothing industry and covers all steps of textile processing - from design and cutting to sewing, embroidery and knitting to textile finishing, finishing and textile printing. The procurement platform Source it rounds off the Texprocess range. Here, the fashion industry can find out about manufacturing countries and manufacturing companies. One focus of this year's Source is on Eastern Europe and North Africa: "We are reacting to the trend that parts of textile processing and clothing production are moving closer to the end consumer markets again," adds Braun.
Techtextil and Texprocess with an extensive supporting program
An extensive supporting program offers interesting facts about the latest developments and trends in international research and industry. A total of 66 lectures at the Techtextil and Avantex Symposia provide insight into current research trends, including intelligent textiles and electronics, sustainable textiles, functional apparel textiles, technology, composites and textile-reinforced concrete. Quality in clothing logistics, trends in procurement and outsourcing, REACh and its current importance for the fashion industry are just a few of the topics at this year's Texprocess Forum in Hall 4.0. Another highlight are the Techtextil and Avantex Innovation Awards, which every two years honor fascinating achievements in research, material and product development and new technologies. In addition, the 12th student competition “Textile Structures for New Building” developed a total of ten outstanding projects for the architecture of the future. The second Texprocess Innovation Award honors outstanding new developments by Texprocess exhibitors.
