As usual, the next e-Monday will be dedicated to the subject of electromobility and will take place on April 29, 2013 at 18:30 p.m. in the Hofbräukeller at Innere Wiener Strasse 19 in Munich. Two very interesting lectures will be held: Mr. Harald Ludescher, Sales Manager at Ziehl-Abegg Automotive GmbH, will speak on the subject of electric city buses of the future - clean and quieter through the city with gearless electric drives. Ben Kraaijenhagen, Sales Manager of MAN Truck & Bus AG, will give the second specialist lecture on the topic "Does the electric truck have a future in the transport and logistics sector?".
The e Monday is Germany's leading interdisciplinary network and information event for all aspects of electromobility for decision-makers from business, technology, science and politics.
It takes place in cooperation with the eCarTec takes place and brings together first-class national and international speakers with a specialist audience from the Munich area and all over Germany.
According to a current survey, the mostly around 100 participants are equally interested in technology, practice, customers and markets.
Motto "Solutions for the sustainable mobility of tomorrow"
"Solutions for the sustainable mobility of tomorrow" - that was the main theme of the first e-Mondays under new management, which took place last Monday in Munich's Hofbräukeller. dr Julian Weber, Head of E-Mobility Innovation Projects at the BMW Group, on the experiences and results of "Project i" at BMW AG. With over 250 registered guests, the first e-Monday of the new year set a visitor record.
Even if there are many good reasons to promote electromobility, ─ "Reason alone will not advance the topic," said Dr. Weber gave his presentation to over 250 participants at the 32nd e-Mondays in Munich. according to dr According to the Weber survey results from “Project i”, which started in 2008, enthusiasm and driving pleasure are the main reasons for the success of electric vehicles.
In order to gather initial insights into the driving behavior of customers with electric vehicles, BMW converted a test fleet of Minis into electric vehicles with a range of 150 kilometers. But "Conversion is a compromise, we'd rather do it right away," was the conclusion from BMW. The BMW i, which will be launched at the end of 2013, is a purely electric car with a passenger cell made of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic and a drive module made of aluminum that combines the battery, drive and kinematics. The lightweight construction, which – like Dr. Weber makes it clear - "one of the keys to more range" is that the BMW i saves weight and has almost a third more range than its predecessor ActiveE.
And BMW's electric mobility concept goes even further: "The successful implementation of sustainable individual mobility requires more solutions than just a car," says Dr. Weber convinced. That's why BMW wants to offer additional mobility services with its "360° Electric" program, such as a park-sharing concept or vouchers for the DriveNow car-sharing service for longer journeys. The pitch for the first e-Monday in 2013 was held by Dr. Christoph Konetschny, Managing Director of the Materials Gate Office for material and technology consulting, who gave an overview of innovative materials for applications in the mobility sector in his five-minute short film lecture "Lightweight construction: Material impulses for electromobility".
New owner of the electric mobility network "e-Monday"
The electric mobility network "e-Monday" founded 4 years ago has a new owner. MunichExpo GmbH - organizer of eCarTec - is now running e-Monday UG GmbH as a subsidiary and is thus expanding its network of a technology and information platform for electromobility. Christina Mariel is responsible for the management.
"As the initiator of e-Monday, I am very pleased that MunichExpo GmbH, a competent industry expert, has been found as the new owner," explains Stefan Kasserra, previous owner and founder of e-Monday, who is still available as an advisor and moderator of the events . The specialist magazine mobility2.0 will continue to support and accompany the industry meetings as a media partner.
Through the close cooperation with the two trade fairs eCarTec Munich and eCarTec Paris, e-Monday gains a strong partner to further increase the awareness and attractiveness of the network. As an interdisciplinary network and information event in the field of electric mobility, e-Monday will continue to expand its monthly industry meetings with national and international specialist lectures and panel discussions. Events in other cities and other formats are also planned for the future.
"We are very pleased that we can strengthen e-Monday through our large international network of the two trade fairs eCarTec Munich and eCarTec Paris," says Robert Metzger, Managing Director of MunichExpo GmbH.
"We have already collected many ideas on how we can use the synergies to further promote the establishment of e-assembly as a network and expert meetings for everything to do with electromobility. We are particularly happy to receive suggestions and opinions from outside,” adds the new managing director Christina Mariel.
