From January 16 to 18, 2013, eltec celebrated a successful anniversary in Nuremberg. A total of around 12.000 electrical specialists visited the 30th trade fair for electrical and energy engineering. 270 exhibitors from six countries offered a complete overview of the electronics market over three days and scored with numerous innovations.

98 percent of the exhibitors presented new products or
-further developments.

Trends and know-how relating to light, building technology and energy technology were particularly in demand. "Rush of visitors despite the sudden onset of winter, innovations, numerous special offers and all of that characterized by a basic family atmosphere - eltec is and remains the most important regional meeting place for the electrical trade," summarize the organizers Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen München GHM and NürnbergMesse, adding: "We We are particularly pleased that the extended product range for lighting technology and the new admission system have been so well received by visitors and exhibitors.”

The entire electrical industry met in Nuremberg for three days. Because the trade visitors came from the electrical trades as well as from the electrical and electronics industry, the service sector and electrical wholesalers and retailers. Numerous representatives from energy supply companies, technical authorities, engineering and planning offices as well as architects also came to the 30th eltec. Despite the wintry weather, more than 40 percent of the visitors covered a distance of 100 to 300 km. The results of the visitor survey show that the long journey was worthwhile: Nine out of ten visitors were satisfied with what was on offer, would recommend their visit to the trade fair and would visit eltec again in the future.

The product groups lighting technology (2013%), building system technology (48%), energy technology (40%) and measuring and testing technology (38%) met with particular interest in 31. In the field of lighting technology, eltec 2013 not only scored with more exhibitors, but also offered the corresponding specialist know-how in the new LIGHT+DESIGN Forum. The practice-oriented lectures dealt with new developments in LED technology, for example, and were enthusiastically received. The program of the well-established eltec FachDialog series of lectures was also very well received. Here, experts provided information about, among other things, contemporary requirements for electrical and data installations. Another crowd puller – especially for planners and architects – was the E-Haus 2013, which showed networked living in action.

Great exhibitor praise

The exhibiting companies also gave the 30th Electrical and Energy Technology Fair top marks. Overall, nine out of ten exhibitors were satisfied with eltec 2013 and praised the professional competence of the visitors. Almost all exhibiting companies (98,9%) were able to reach their target group. 92 percent were willing to take part in the eltec in the future. Sascha Schätzle, Area Sales Manager at S. Siedle & Sons: “My first summary of this year's trade fair is very positive, I'm completely satisfied. Compared to 2011, it is also noticeable that the mood on the market is much better, the visitors are showing great interest and want to buy a lot. I'm happy about new customers, but our regular customers were particularly enthusiastic about our offer. We will definitely be back in 2015.”

A strong meeting for a strong industry

With a view to the industry situation, the eltec visitors were confident: 50 percent see an upward trend. The good mood in the three exhibition halls is no coincidence, as Hans Auracher, Chairman of the State Guild Association of Bavarian Electrical Trades (LIV) knows: technological progress. The electrical trade can benefit from this. We occupy the energy efficiency market with innovative ideas and are therefore at the beginning of a success story – that was clearly shown at eltec 2013.”

Klaus Jung, General Manager of the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI), is also very satisfied with the 30th eltec: "Our member companies were very satisfied with the popularity of eltec and the quantity and quality of the trade fair. The contacts were excellent. We started the new year in a good mood and are cautiously optimistic about the market development for 2013. The stable refurbishment, refurbishment and modernization market (SANREMO) ensures that the economic environment will continue to be healthy.”

The next eltec will take place from 14.-16. January 2015 in the Exhibition Center Nuremberg.
