Intec 2013 with a special show on the processing of new materials
Ahlhorn | 14.02.2013/XNUMX/XNUMX
From 26 February to 1 March 2013, the processing of new materials, one of the central themes in production technology, will be in the limelight at the Intec mechanical engineering trade fair in Leipzig.
As part of a special show “Processing new materials and composites”, exhibitors from research and practice will show how, for example, fiber composites can be processed in series production in an energy- and resource-efficient manner.
From February 26th to March 1st, 2013, the processing of new materials, one of the central topics of production technology, will be in the limelight at the intec mechanical engineering trade fair in Leipzig.
As part of a special show “Processing new materials and composites”, exhibitors from research and practice will show how, for example, fiber composites can be processed in series production in an energy- and resource-efficient manner.
The Leipzig Trade Fair was able to win over the Institute for Lightweight Construction and Plastics Technology at the Technical University of Dresden and the regional department CC East of Carbon Composites eV for the technical coordination.
The intec, one of the leading trade fairs for production technology and machine tool construction, will take place for the fifth time in 2013 in connection with the Z supplier fair in Leipzig.
Today, modern fiber composite materials are mainly used in aviation, in vehicle construction and in alternative energies. In electric vehicles in particular, they are playing an increasingly important role. The increased use of lighter materials and designs in mass production therefore places completely new demands on machine tool and tool construction as well as manufacturing and manufacturing technology.
"There is still a lot of development potential in the processing of materials in series production," explains Professor Werner Hufenbach, Director of the Institute for Lightweight Construction and Plastics Technology (ILK) at the TU Dresden and specialist coordinator of the special show. "More than 50 percent of today's production costs for high-performance fiber composites could be saved if we continue to optimize strategies and processes in production."
The intec special show illuminates the topic from different perspectives. The ILK of the TU Dresden and the Institute for Machining of the TU Dortmund present current research results and future-oriented cooperation projects with industry.
At the same time, well-known companies that have distinguished themselves in the practical use of modern materials will introduce themselves. On the user side, Schmuhl Faserverbundtechnik GmbH & Co. KG Liebschütz presents the cabin structure of a vehicle crane in GRP-CFRP construction. Mitras Composites Systems GmbH shows the production of sophisticated technical plastic parts, which are representative of a multitude of possible applications from electromobility to medical and laboratory technology. With technologies for the finishing of fiber composites, Hufschmied Zerspaninstrumente GmbH is on site with drills and milling cutters for CFRP / FRP processing. There are also innovative tool solutions from LEUKA, the MAPAL Dr. Kress KG and Guhring OHG.
The intec special show will take place in Hall 3 during the trade fair. In addition to the exhibits in the special exhibition area, the "Processing of new materials and material composites" will also take place on February 28th in a separate topic block in the exhibitor forum in Hall 5. Information about intec and Z
At the beginning of the year, the trade fair double is the first important indicator and meeting place for the metalworking and processing industry in Europe. At Intec, the focus is on machine tools and special machines as well as production technology. At the "Z - The Subcontracting Fair" visitors can expect semi-finished products, components, modules and technologies, especially for vehicle and mechanical engineering.
