The DuPont™ Nomex® product family was developed to meet the diverse needs of the electrical industry. Nomex® is a brand that has built a reputation for providing consistently high and reliable electrical insulation.
That's why the Nomex® product family, which includes papers and boards, has been trusted worldwide in numerous applications for more than 50 years.
Redesigned portfolio introduced in 2014
To support the continued focus on technical innovation and to emphasize the tailor-made product range for specific end-uses, DuPont introduced a revised portfolio in 2014. This change is intended to offer customers a clearer portfolio that makes product selection according to application easier than ever.
The Nomex® product family is now divided into five series
One of the key steps DuPont took in creating this enhanced portfolio was to separate the product types into one of five new series:
- Nomex® 900 series – an ideal insulation solution for transformers immersed in liquid.
- Nomex® 800 Series – designed for rotating machines working under difficult conditions and for applications with special fire requirements.
- Nomex® Series 400 – a product that sets standards in terms of performance, reliability and durability.
- Nomex® Series 300 – cost-effective solution for less demanding electrical applications.
- Nomex® Series 200 – for isolating battery packs and electronic applications.
As you can see from the table below, some product types have been renamed as part of the transition to the revised portfolio that is now used for the Nomex® family of products.
