Manufacture LED lights in optimal quality

Düsseldorf | 12.04.2013

The 2. VDI conference “Service life and quality assurance in LED lighting” on 26. and June 27, 2013 in Düsseldorf discussed the entire value chain from the package to the luminaire.

The conference begins with lectures on the life cycle assessment and aging of mid-power LEDs, HP LEDs according to LM80. Experts present how to determine and model the degradation behavior of LEDs. Lecturers from industry and research – among others from Nichia, Osram, Philips as well as the TU Darmstadt and the LED Institute Dr. Slabke – speak in a panel discussion about their experiences with LED packages and explain how realistic service life specifications are.

Change in the lighting industry

The lighting industry is in a state of technological change. The European lighting manufacturers can still assert themselves in the competition with quality products. But Asian giants are already on the rise. What options are there to ensure optimal product quality? Experts will discuss these and other questions at the 2. VDI conference “Service life and quality assurance in LED lighting” on 26. and June 27, 2013 in Düsseldorf. The organizer is the VDI Wissensforum.

Various specialist lectures

The conference begins with lectures on the life cycle assessment and aging of mid-power LEDs, determining and modeling HP-Ln LEDs. Lecturers from industry and research – among others from Nichia, Osram, Philips as well as the TU Darmstadt and the LED Institute Dr. Slabke – speak in a panel discussion about their experiences with LED packages and explain how realistic service life specifications are.

Other interesting lectures deal with thermal management and the influence of the assembly process on the service life of LEDs. Experts from BAG and Tridonic present the quality of electronic ballasts and the requirements of LED power supplies. A thematic block of the conference deals with the analysis of LED failures, failure mechanisms and risks as well as lifetime measurements of LED systems. In addition, representatives from the lighting industry talk about the quality and reliability of the LED light.

Special day for OLED

On the lecture of the conference, the 25. June 2013, there will be a special day on OLED in lighting. Here, experts discuss the current state of OLED technology and OLED applications in general lighting, in automobiles and in aircraft, as well as funding opportunities and development trends.

Polycarbonate diffuser sheets

For LED applications, Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH Diffuser films made of Makrofol, Lexan films, polyester films and other films.

This is where blanks and Stanzteile are manufactured, which can also be manufactured partially adhesive.
