Polycarbonate (PC)
Polycarbonate is mainly amorphous with a low crystalline tendency. PC is hyaline but not crystal-clear.
PC has a combination of metallic and glass properties like for example high impact resistance, transparency, great rigidity, dimensionally stable and thermal resistance.
Polycarbonate is an excellent electrical insulator and it is self-extinguishing after removing the fire source.
Polycarbonate is a transparent, very impact resistant thermoplastic and it is mainly used as a half-finished material as clear model.
Besides the good dielectric properties it is noteworthy that it can be used at low and high temperatures (-90 up to +135°C). PC is manufactured clear-transparent and has the highest impact strength of all transparent thermoplastics.
We provide polycarbonate plates and films of Lexan and Makrofol.
