Polyvinylchloride is one of the most-used plastics. PVC is a stable film which has to be flexible or formable with softeners or similar before it can be used in the insulating area.

PVC is corrosion-resistant and of low flammability but it has a low temperature resistance and it is not recommended as a thermally conductor. The material is available crystal-clear or coloured, it has well electric and antistatic insulating properties. Thereby PVC is weather resistant, durable and because of its chlorine content it has a low flammability and it is abrasion-resistant.
