Polyimide films: Extension of the product rangeMüller Ahlhorn
Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH, a leading supplier of electrical insulation materials, thermal conduction products, gaskets and technical films, has extensively expanded its range of polyimide films.
Larger thickness range of polyimide films
Polyimide films, which were previously available as standard in a thickness range of 12.5 – 125 µ, have been used due to this limitation in thickness due to their flexibility in the insulation of wires, conductors, cables, windings, motor slots, magnetic coils, transformers and capacitors. Special types are used in the insulation of highly heat-resistant wires, cables and flat cables as well as in the application as masking tapes.
Further strengths are now available for applications where the stiffness of the material, low moisture absorption, high dielectric strength and a V0 flammability rating are important.
Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH mentions housing insulation of electrical and electronic devices as well as slot insulation and slot closures in electric motors as areas of application, in particular also for drives of electric vehicles in which polyester film is not sufficient due to the temperature resistance of 130°C.
Another field of application are insulating parts for batteries.
Further special types
In addition to expanding the range of products in the thickness range, Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH has also added other special types to its product range.
With the polyimide film Flexiso BW FI 16035, Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH presents a thermally conductive polyimide film as an alternative to established products on the market. This film is used in electronic devices for cooling power modules and in the production of printed circuits. Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH supplies Flexiso BW FI 16035 with a thickness of 0.05 mm for a newly developed electronic system for a vehicle brake.
The polyimide film Flexiso CR FI 16055 is a corona resistant polyimide film, which is especially used for the insulation of profile conductors and cables – especially in electrically highly utilized systems.
Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH supplies the new polyimide films in cut rolls, as punched and formed parts or also as wide goods. Prototypes can also be produced on the company’s cutting plotters or laser cutting machines.
