The glass fiber tubes that we sell and assemble are available in different cross-sections and dimensions (lengths) as well as with different coatings.
Depending on the application, glass fiber tubes with a PU lacquer layer or a silicone coating can be selected. We also supply raw hoses and thermally treated raw hoses.
The resistant protective layers make the hoses particularly resistant and insensitive to external influences. These are used Insulating hoses whenever there are high thermal loads.

Areas of application for fiberglass tubing

Usual applications are to protect internal wiring and power lines within heat-generating consumers, heating units or machines. We mainly supply the insulating hoses to manufacturers and repair companies of electric motors, generators and transformers.
Glass silk hoses are suitable for the production of profiles of any kind, as spar or other hollow constructions, whereby with a suitable application process it is ensured that the force-absorbing reinforcing fiber of the glass silk hose is free of air bubbles, all-over and seamless – thus without loss of strength – also around the edge of the shaping core and is sufficiently soaked with the resin system used.
For high torsional resp. A 45 ° angle is optimal for shear strength. The diameter of the braided tube can be changed by stretching or compressing, but the fiber angle should ideally be between 30 ° and 60 °. A reinforcement in the 0 ° direction can be achieved with so-called UD threads, which are also braided in.
Another material (fibers such as aramid) can definitely be used for this purpose.

The raw glass fiber tubes are also used in the pultrusion of GRP profiles.

What are fiberglass tubing made of?
Glass silk consists of silk-like glass threads with a diameter between 0.01 and 0.3 mm. The threads are interwoven and are used for a wide variety of technical applications, including paper reinforcement or decorative fabrics.
The threads, also known as filaments, are drawn at high temperatures of over 1,000 degrees and made supple with certain additives. The individual spun threads are processed into yarns, from which glass fiber tubes are then made using special knitting and weaving processes.

Due to the high temperature resistance and mechanical strength, the non-conductive hoses are particularly suitable for electrical insulation.
