Sonophan PEI film availableMüller Ahlhorn
Sonophan PEI is heat resistant, inherently flame retardant, self-extinguishing and electrically insulating.
Heat-resistant, inherently flame-retardant, self-extinguishing and electrically insulating is the PEI film Sonophan PEI from Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH from Ahlhorn in Lower Saxony. It is based on polyetherimide from Sabic and can be manufactured in a thickness range (5 µm to 50 µm).
Versatile application possibilities of Sonophan PEI
The film is suitable for applications in electrical engineering and electronics, vehicle and aircraft construction and medical technology.
For example, the product can be used as a membrane film in smartphone loudspeakers and microphones, where it resists strong dynamic loads.
Its mechanical properties in longitudinal and transverse direction are almost identical. The Sonophan film can also be deep-drawn and is suitable for use in electrically insulating deep-drawn parts, thermoformed products and insulating tapes, as a carrier film for adhesive tapes and as a base film for capacitors, winding contacts, elastic PCB applications and stripping.
The film is available in a thickness range from 0.006 to 0.050 mm in a width of currently 500 mm.
Converting of Sonophan PEI-films
Dr. Dietrich Mueller GmbH offers not only the pure film, but also the further processing. The film can be coated, metallized, cut, formed and punched.
