Electric share of German passenger car market reaches new high

Strong rise in new orders in the German electrical industry New orders in the German electrical industry rose by 49.1 percent year-on-year in May 2021. In May of this year, 34.0 percent more new orders were received from the domestic market than a year ago. Foreign orders increased almost twice as strongly, by 62.9 percent. Here, orders from the euro zone increased by 64.2 percent and those from third countries by 62.2 percent. In the first five months of 2021 as a whole, orders exceeded their corresponding prior-year figure by 27.9 percent.
