Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH | 11.12.2019
Makrofol, Lexan film and polyester film are used as diffuser film.
Dr. D. Müller GmbH supplies a wide range of diffuser films for LED applications. Makrofol films, Lexan films and polyester films are used and are supplied as finished parts.
A wide range of diffuser films for LED applications is supplied by Dr. D. Müller GmbH from Ahlhorn. Various polycarbonate films of the brands Markrofol from Covestro and Lexan from Sabic as well as polyester films from various manufacturers are processed into punched parts, blanks and moulded parts.
The following types are used in particular:
Lexan 8B35 is a colorless polycarbonate film with velvet matt/matte surfaces. This Lexan film is available in thicknesses from 0.25mm to 0.75mm. Lexan 8B35 has a transmittance of about 80% and can be used as a light diffuser.
Lexan 8B28 is a polycarbonate film in the color off-white. Lexan 8B28 has the following surfaces: velvet matt/fine matte. Lexan 8B28 is available in thicknesses from 0.25mm to 0.75mm. Lexan 8B28 has a transmittance of about 60%. As a standard diffuser film it is particularly suitable for applications with fluorescent tubes.
Makrofol LM 309
Makrofol LM 309 is a polycarbonate film in the colour translucent. Makrofol LM 309 is available in thicknesses of 0.3 and 0.5 mm. They have a transmission factor of 85 and 81% respectively. Makrofol LM 309 has been specially developed for use as a diffuser film. It has a balanced ratio between transmission and diffusion.
Makrofol DE 1-4 white
Makrofol DE 1-4 is a polycarbonate film in the colour pure white with glossy/matt surfaces. Makrofol DE 1-4 is available in thicknesses from 0.25mm to 0.75mm. Makrofol DE 1-4 has a transmission factor of approx. 60%. Makrofol DE 1-4 is used as a standard diffuser film. It is used in applications with fluorescent tubes. Makrofol DE 1-4 is available in a thickness of 0.5mm and is also suitable for large parts. Makrofol DE 1-4 is particularly appreciated for its pure white colour.
PET 175 is a colourless PET film with matt surfaces on both sides, the thickness is indicated as approx. 0.175 mm. The transmittance is approx. 80%. Applications include fluorescent tubes and LEDs.
Dr. D. Müller GmbH uses these films to produce stamped and formed parts which are then used in the LED sector.
Dr. D. Müller GmbH also supplies products for thermal management in LED technology. Here, thermal conduction pastes of the Thermigrease brand, thermal conduction foils of the Thermiflex product range and thermal conduction pads of the Thermipad brand are used.
The product Thermiglue TL 23007 is especially used in the bonding of LEDs on aluminium heat sinks.
