Solarpeq: Die Fachmesse für die Solartechnik

Solarpeq: Die Fachmesse für die Solartechnik

Ahlhorn | 22.10.2012

Solarpeq is the new top event in the solar industry. The trade fair for solar production technology takes place parallel to the world’s leading trade fair glasstec and offers an international forum for everyone who offers or wants to buy machines for the production and processing of silicon, wafers, solar cells and modules.
More than 250 exhibitors from over 30 countries came to the first event in September / October 2010 to present their products. In total, over 55,000 trade visitors are expected at solarpeq and glasstec.
Am 22. and On October 23, 2012 the conference “solar meets glass – 3rd Industry Summit for Markets, Costs and Technology” will take place for the third time in the Congress Center East on the Düsseldorf exhibition grounds.

glasstec / solarpeq 2012: Solar meets Glass conference is establishing itself

New edition in cooperation with Solarpraxis and OTTI in October 2013

The conference “solar meets glass – 3rd Industry Summit for Markets, Costs and Technology”, which took place on 22. and October 23rd as part of glasstec / solarpeq ended successfully with more than 130 participants. The experts from the glass and solar industry were very satisfied with the possibility of personal exchange about their interface topics as part of the unique combination of glasstec as the leading international trade fair for the glass industry and the parallel solarpeq, which shows solar production equipment. In the current economically tense situation in the solar industry in particular, increasing efficiency and reducing production costs are essential for the industry. The glass industry, in turn, has know-how that can contribute to achieving this goal through appropriate solutions.

In addition to a market and technology overview of photovoltaics, “solar meets glass” therefore dealt with the topics of production technology, efficiency as well as material and costs relating to PV glass. The lectures focused on topics such as (ultra) thin glass, differences between float and rolled glass in PV use, and progress in anti-reflective coatings for solar cover glasses. The topics of trends, new markets and technologies for everything to do with building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) and the recycling of PV modules were also on the agenda. The newly included topic of the (re) recycling of solar modules, which was designed in cooperation with the bvse – Federal Association of Secondary Raw Materials and Disposal and the Glass Technology Forum of the Association of German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers (VDMA), also met with a good response.

New partner OTTI

Starting in 2013, the Ostbayerisches Technologie-Transfer-Institut eV (OTTI) will contribute content and organization to “solar meets glass”. With the merger of the two established events “solar meets glass” and “Glass and Solar” (previously organized by OTTI), a comprehensive and targeted specialist conference is being created that opens up the synergies and interfaces between the glass and solar sectors. The cooperation between Messe Düsseldorf, Solarpraxis AG and OTTI as a new partner promises a further increase in content and organizational competence. While retaining the title “solar meets glass”, the top-class specialist committee is developing a program that integrates current scientific contributions and topics that are directly relevant to the economy.

“We are pleased to have won OTTI as a partner for ’solar meets glass‘. The expertise and contacts of such a well-known event organizer for everything to do with technology and renewable energies is an ideal addition, which further underpins our high quality standards ”, says Hans Werner Reinhard, Deputy Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf.

The date of the upcoming „solar meets glass“ is 09. and October 10th, 2013. The conference will take place in Düsseldorf.

The Solar meets Glass conference brings the glass and solar industries together again at glasstec / solarpeq 2012

The focus is on markets, reducing costs, increasing efficiency and PV recycling

Am 22. and On October 23, 2012, the conference “solar meets glass – 3rd Industry Summit for Markets, Costs, and Technology” will take place for the third time in the Congress Center East on the Düsseldorf exhibition grounds. One day before glasstec, the world’s most important trade fair for the glass industry and solarpeq, its sister event for solar production technology, experts from the glass and solar industry will discuss their interface issues here. The aim of „solar meets glass“ is to enable the professional exchange of both industries in this globally unique environment in order to show the glass industry new sales opportunities and to give impetus to the solar industry in the race for higher efficiency and cost reduction.

The conference program is being designed by Messe Düsseldorf together with Solarpraxis AG, one of the leading conference providers in the field of renewable energies, and is aimed at producers of thin-film and crystalline photovoltaics, solar system integrators and manufacturers of mounting systems for PV. Suppliers of automation technology, glass manufacturers, system providers of glass applications and glass assembly systems as well as suppliers to the glass and solar industries are also addressed.

The selection of the top-level speakers takes into account both the glass and the PV industry as well as the supplier and customer side in order to do justice to the current topic complexes comprehensively. In addition to a market and technology overview of photovoltaics, the first day of the conference will deal with the topics of production technology, efficiency as well as material and costs relating to PV glass. The lectures will focus on topics such as (ultra) thin glass, differences between float and rolled glass in PV use, and progress in anti-reflective coatings for solar cover glasses. A top-class discussion panel is then planned for a targeted professional exchange between the conference participants.

The second day of “solar meets glass” is organized around two central thematic blocks: trends, new markets and technologies for everything to do with building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) and recycling of PV modules. The topic of (re) recycling solar modules is offered as an option and is extensively examined in two blocks in cooperation with the bvse – Federal Association for Secondary Raw Materials and Disposal and the Glass Technology Forum of the Association of German Machinery and Plant Manufacturers (VDMA). The first block deals with the requirements for the collection and recycling of PV modules, while the second focuses on the processing and recycling for the recovery of raw materials. On the afternoon of the second day, the participants of “solar meets glas” will visit glasstec and solarpeq at the end of the conference.

The price for participation in “solar meets glass” is 595 euros. Until 1. September 2012 is an early bird special of 495 euros. The fee includes a 2-day ticket to visit glasstec / solarpeq and the solarpeq exhibition catalog. The conference language is English. The bvse recycling session can also be booked separately for 60 euros. The lecture language is German with simultaneous translation into English. The complete conference program and further information is available at www.solarpeq.de.
