From January 16 to 18, 2013, eltec celebrated a successful anniversary in Nuremberg. A total of around 12,000 electrical professionals attended the 30th exhibition for electrical and power engineering. Trends and know-how relating to lighting, building systems and energy technology were particularly in demand. “Crowds of visitors despite the sudden onset of winter, innovations, numerous sales deals and all characterized by a familiar basic atmosphere – eltec is and remains the most important regional meeting place for the electrical trade,” summarize the organizers Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen München GHM and NürnbergMesse together, adding: “We are particularly pleased that the larger range of products for lighting technology and also the new admission system were so well received by visitors and exhibitors.”
The entire electrical industry met in Nuremberg over three days. This is because the trade visitors came from the electrical trade as well as from the electrical and electronics industry, the service sector and the electrical wholesale and retail trade. Numerous representatives of energy supply companies, specialist authorities, engineering and planning offices and architects were also attracted to the 30th eltec. More than 40 percent of the visitors traveled from a distance of 100 to 300 km despite the wintry weather. The results of the visitor survey prove that the long journey was worthwhile: Nine out of ten visitors were satisfied with the range of products and services on offer, would recommend their visit to the trade fair to others and would visit eltec again in the future.
In 2013, the lighting technology (48%), building systems technology (40%), energy technology (38%) and measuring and testing technology (31%) product groups attracted particular interest. In the field of lighting technology, eltec 2013 not only scored with more exhibitors, but also offered the appropriate specialist know-how in the new LICHT+DESIGN forum. The practice-oriented lectures covered, for example, new developments in LED technology and were enthusiastically received. The program of the proven eltec FachDialog series of lectures was also popular. Here, experts provided information on contemporary requirements for electrical and data installations, among other things. Another crowd-puller – especially for planners and architects – was the E-House 2013, which showed networked living in action. Young people from the industry again got their money’s worth at the TechnoCamp with its workshop course.
Great exhibitor praise
The exhibiting companies also gave the 30th electrical and energy technology trade fair top marks. Nine out of ten exhibitors were satisfied with eltec 2013 overall and praised the visitors’ expertise. Almost all exhibiting companies (98.9%) were able to reach their target group. 92 percent showed willingness to participate in eltec in the future as well. Sascha Schätzle, regional sales manager at S. Siedle & Söhne: “My initial summary of this year’s trade fair is very positive, I am completely satisfied. Compared to 2011, it is also noticeable that the market mood is much better, visitors are showing great interest and want to buy a lot. I am happy about new customers, but especially our regular customers were totally enthusiastic about our offer. We will definitely be back in 2015.”
A strong meeting for a strong industry
Looking at the industry economy, eltec visitors were confident: 50 percent see an upward trend. The good mood in the three exhibition halls is no coincidence, knows Hans Auracher, Chairman of the State Guild Association for the Bavarian Electrical Trade (LIV): “In the subject of efficient energy use, it is evident that nothing progresses without control technology and technological progress. The electrical trade can profit from this. We are occupying the energy efficiency market with innovative ideas and are thus at the beginning of a success story – this was clearly demonstrated at eltec 2013.”
Klaus Jung, Managing Director of the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association (ZVEI), is also highly satisfied with the 30th eltec: “Our member companies were very pleased with the popularity of eltec, and both the quantity and quality of the trade show contacts were excellent. We started the new year in a good mood and are cautiously optimistic about the market development for 2013. The stable renovation, refurbishment and modernization market (SANREMO) ensures a continued healthy economic environment.”
The next eltec will be held at the Exhibition Center Nuremberg from January 14-16, 2015.
