Laser cutting of electrical insulating materials, seals, thermally conductive foils and technical foils

The laser cutting of electrical insulating materials, seals, thermally conductive foils and technical foils is carried out at Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH in three different ways:

  1. The laser beam is deflected by mirrors that move quickly in the XY direction. This gives a very high speed.
  2. In the other case, the film is cut on a CNC laser cutting machine, where the laser beam is not moved, but the film is moved using XY axes.
  3. In the third case, the material is cut on a CNC laser cutting machine, where a laser beam from a moving cutting head hits the material.
    It is also possible to combine the methods in order to increase the achievable speed and/or the processing size.

Laser cutting is used to produce small quantities or prototypes.

Since the Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH is recognized as a UL recognized repackager, the materials processed by us do not lose their UL approval.

We have already cut or engraved the following materials on our laser machines:

The above list represents only a small selection of the possibilities offered by the laser beam, which is relatively new to us. Many other applications are possible.

The company Dr. Dietrich Müller GmbH has put its focus on the laser processing of foils of all kinds. The range of foil-like materials that can be processed using laser technology is constantly expanding. Almost every film can be lasered.

If you cannot find your material in the list above, it does not mean that it cannot be processed with our laser machines. An inquiry is definitely worthwhile. If possible and necessary, a test on the specific material will show how our laser cutting technology can solve your problem.

We do not cut PVC, PTFE, FEP with a laser. For these materials we rely on water jet cutting technology.
