Polystyrene film is easy to print on and excellent for gluing. The variety of colors opens up many areas of application. Polystyrene foils are harder and stiffer than other foils. They can be supplied crystal-clear or colored white.

The density of styrenic polymers is between 1030 and 1050 kg/m3. Polystyrene film has high rigidity, medium hardness and strength, but only low impact strength. The continuous use temperature range is approximately between -10 °C and +80 °C. Special types reach -30 to +70 °C, briefly up to +90 °C.

Polystyrene film is chemically resistant to acids and bases, but not in high concentrations, as well as to fats and oils.

Polystyrene film is not resistant to oxidizing agents and aliphatic, aromatic or chlorinated hydrocarbons and has a strong tendency to form stress cracks.

Polystyrene film is completely soluble in many esters, ketones, aromatic and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
The crystal-clear polymer is characterized by high surface quality and transparency.

With otherwise somewhat unfavorable electrical insulating properties compared to polyethylene, it is particularly suitable for high-frequency technology due to its good dielectric properties and has good radiation resistance, but like all plastics it has a strong tendency to electrostatic charging. PS is flammable and not weatherproof.
